Business in China has become much more attractive than ever before, more and more companies in the west see the advantages of working with the Chinese but how can you guarantee the quality of the goods are up to your standard?
With both Chinese and European staff we can fulfill all your quality-control needs in China. We operate all over China to visit those suppliers that need inspections when and if you feel something is not right. We operate under your direct quality guidelines and provide you with a full inspection report after. Additionally we can send you the production samples.
Supplier check
Whenever we find a potential supplier Jan & Jan – Asian Opportunities always does a supplier check. By checking a supplier on some critical points we can have a better understanding whether the supplier is suited for our customers needs. Some manufacturers portray themselves different from the reality. Therefor it is important to visit the manufacturer to see if everything they claim is true. To give you a better idea of what this check is about here are a few examples.
- Schedule.
Does the manufacturer have time to produce for us or are they too busy, what is their production schedule?
- Certification.
Does the manufacturer have any certificates or ISO norms and does he have all the required certificates needed for our target market?
- Production.
Does the manufacturer produce everything themselves or do they also work with other suppliers, who are they?
- Capability.
Does the manufacturer have the right equipment and knowhow to produce for us?
- History.
Who is the manufacturer currently producing for and what are their markets?
- Sustainability.
What is the ecological footprint of the manufacturer?
- Capacity.
Does the factory have the production capacity to meet the delivery time?
- Inventory.
Does the manufacturer keep stock or do they produce only on order?
- responsibility.
Does the manufacturer produce in a ethical way, what are the norms and values towards their workers?
Inspections on-site
To prevent and avoid miss-understandings it is of utmost importance in China to timely inspect the manufacturer. Jan & Jan – Asian Opportunities can perform an inspection at any time when you feel there might be a problem, when your supplier for example no longer replies to your e-mails, phonecalls or always is on a “business trip”.
We strongly recommend to make a product sample before production.
This allows us to maintain the confirmed sample as standard for all the produced goods.
We often perform the following on-site inspections.
- Pre-Production.
Inspection of the moulds, designs, customizations, materials and raw materials to be used in production.
- Production.
Inspection of the production proces, we will check if everything is produced according to agreement and to see if the production is still on schedule.
- Post Production.
Quality control inspection of the goods, packing and shipping labels.
Loading containers
From our experience we know next to regular inspections in the production proces it is also essential to oversee the loading of the freight container. Often the products are produced properly but when they are loaded in the container workers are throwing with the boxes or placing the goods in ways they will break. besides wrong loading it is also possible for goods to break whilst at sea. When there is rough sea the boat moves a lot and so do the containers. Jan & Jan – Asian Opportunities can provide you with air bags to prevent pallets from shifting at sea. We strongly recommend these with all fragile goods such as Ceramics and porcelain to prevent unnecessary damage and costs.

Chinese inspection
When you wish to have your inspection performed by one of our Chinese operatives we charge € 45,- per hour. From 6 hours or more we apply our daily rate.
€ 250 daily
European inspection
When you wish to have your inspection performed by one of our European operatives we charge € 90,- per hour. From 6 hours or more we apply our daily rate.
€ 500,- daily
